RRIOTT Polocrosse

Premium Polocrosse Racquets Made By Polocrosse Players For Polocrosse Players

In the world of polocrosse, few racquets have become as distinctive and recognised amongst the worlds top players as ours. Handcrafted in a purpose built facility on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, every RRIOTT Polocrosse Racquet is the collaborative result of a highly skilled group of dedicated craftsman that, like you, love to play polocrosse.
At RRIOTT Polocrosse, we are committed to building racquets of exacting and unparalleled performance because as polocrosse players that's what we want to play with. We play polocrosse (and tinker with) our racquets as much as you do. The only difference is that when we want to change a product, we come to work. We are proud of our workmanship and build every racquet as though it were going to be our own. So whether you play with a plastic or graphite racquet or prefer conventional cane, you can be assured that you are investing in a racquet of unequalled quality, performance and workmanship.

Polocrosse Kits
Committed to developing Polocrosse RRIOTT Polocrosse offers a range of economically priced kits that make the sometimes expensive seeming start up not so rich.
We understand that many people and clubs are keen to try polocrosse but the upfront costings make it hard to get started, With significant discounts over buying individual items the RRIOTT Polocrosse Kits are our way of helping spread the polocrosse epidemic around the world.

Since we introduced the starter pack we have been overwhelmed by the demand from all parts of the world having shipped in excess of 600 kits over the last 4 years. Obviously we have over time continually developed the kits as we receive feedback from around the globe resulting in what we believe is a Polocrosse Starter Kit far superior to any others in the market place today. Being polocrosse players ourselves the ease of access to quality polocrosse equipment for people who just wanted to try the game was one of the major drivers, imagine how justified we feel today having driven almost all other manufactures throughout the world to offer a similar discounted kit.

This 3 to 4 year break on the rest of the polocrosse market has enabled us to as mentioned above continually refine our offering, and it is simply amazing how many of the simple things (not always offered by our competitors) can improve such kits. Simple things like ensuring the kit bag is big enough to hold not only all the racquets comfortably but also the bibs some extra balls, maybe a video or two. Other things not be overlooked include ensuring the bibs are designed to fit juniors and not adults or visa versa, and a full kit list to make packing up and checking off all of the kit easy.

Polymer Head Starter Racquet
The Plastic Head Starter Racquet has been developed by RRIOTT Polocrosse specifically for both beginner Polocrosse players, Pony Clubs and other Riding clubs wanting to try Polocrosse without the substantial cost of investing in competition racquets.

The Polymer Head Starter Racquet has been designed with the demands of new players and coaching clinics in mind and as such exhibits qualities not in found traditional low cost racquets.

Considering most people who try polocrosse for the first time are children or have not had the opportunity to develop the wrist strength required to play polocrosse, The Polymer Head Starter Racquet is manufactured to be as light as possible without compromising its longevity. Many racquet makers simply use thinner cane when making junior style polocrosse racquets, sure it reduces the weight but the racquets become very flexible and as such very hard to pick the ball up with. RRIOTT Polocrosse use only premium Manu Cane imported from Indonesia and hand-pick the lightest canes for our Starter Racquet Collection.

Unlike others RRIOTT Polocrosse take considerable care in balancing each and every racquet “even if it is for a beginner who doesn’t know any better”. We don’t sell our rejects as beginner racquets, our Starter Racquets are just that, racquets that will enable people to enjoy the game and do what they want without being inhibited by the quality of the racquet. Because all our polocrosse racquets are made by polocrosse players in Australia we understand how a polocrosse racquet is meant to work.

Super Strong Polymer Plastic Head
We believe the single most popular component of our Polymer Head Starter Racquet is just that the Polymer Head. By virtue of their design the Plastic heads used in our racquets are the lightest polymer head racquet in the world . Each head is made from a UV stabilised polymer formula that is not affected by sunlight meaning you can continue to use each racquet for many years to come without it becoming brittle in the sunlight.

It is well-documented plastic head racquets are among the toughest available and very rarely break. Traditionally the biggest problem with the plastic head racquet has been they are expensive, however new technology used exclusively by RRIOTT Polocrosse has ensured that we can now produce polymer heads for a fraction of the previous cost without sacrificing quality.

Given the majority of Pony Club players are children RRIOTT Polocrosse ensures each racquet is equipped with a child’s sized grip (unless otherwise requested). It is also worth noting that each RRIOTT Polocrosse Starter racquet is equipped with a premium long wearing cushion grip, rather than trying to save a couple of dollars on each racquet by using insulation tape or terry toweling that goes hard and becomes uncomfortable for beginners to hold RRIOTT polocrosse makes sure when a new starter picks up one of our racquets they are not put off straight away simply by the way it feels in their hand.

Quality Nets
The Single most popular component in any racquet may indeed be the head but simply the most important is the Net. In the past many racquet makers have chosen to use seconds nets and nets made from inferior quality string for beginner’s racquets. This has caused no end of pain for the recipients of such racquets because they are unable to adjust the nets to suit themselves and should they be lucky enough to find a polocrosse player to help them adjust their net they are generally told the unfortunate truth that this net is no suitable for the racquet and can not be adjusted.

Nets that cannot be adjusted are one of the major causes of discontentment within new polocrosse players. Starting off with a new racquet and not being able to hold onto the ball or even worse not being able to throw it can be extremely disheartening to new players and can potentially put them so far behind their peers abilities that they decide not to continue playing to avoid embarrassment.

RRIOTT Polocrosse recognises that the net is critical in a beginner racquet even more so than in an experienced players racquet. If an experienced player has a racquet that hooks a little they can simply adjust their throw to compensate, whereas a beginner compensating for a racquet that hooks may develop fundamental faults in their throwing techniques that will carry with them for years to come.

Keeping this in mind RRIOTT Polocrosse utilises a net designed specifically for the Plastic Head Starter Racquet (not one modified from another design). The advantages of such a net are firstly that is it is not as deep as many of today’s professional nets although it holds the ball well it also throws easily. Each net is tested and set before it is shipped and a net setting guide is included with each racquet. Because RRIOTT racquets makes its own nets for the Plastic Head Starter racquet we are able to tailor a net that will be considered exactly what you require.

The Racquet
As previously mentioned RRIOTT polocrosse racquets use only the best imported cane for all racquets (Not furniture cane). We understand that each child within a Pony Club may be different and require different length and weight racquets subsequently we are also happy to provide a broad cross section of weights and lengths of racquets at no extra charge.
